Small Group News

For groups who purchased a small group health plan in
2020
The Affordable Care Act requires health insurers to rebate part of the premiums they receive if they do not spend at least 80 percent on healthcare services such as doctor and hospital claims. This percentage is known as the medical loss ratio (MLR).
In 2020, Premera spent less than 80 percent of premium collected on healthcare services, so we will be rebating part of that premium.
What you should know
- Even if you no longer have a small group plan with us, you’ll receive a rebate check if you’re eligible.
