Starting May 1, on-exchange individual clients will be transitioned to a new billing and payment system. Premera is making this change so that all our individual members are using the same system, and we’ll be able to help them more effectively.
Your clients don’t need to take any action now. If you or your clients have any questions on paying premiums through April 30, they can review our Bill pay FAQ page. This page will also be updated with the latest resources as the change draws near.
The first of several planned communications was sent to your individual clients last week. We’ve included that message here.
New Payment System Coming May 1

What’s changing?
Premera Blue Cross is moving to a new billing and payment system on May 1, 2020. This change will impact how you pay your monthly premium.
Starting May 1:
- Your invoices will look different than your current invoice
- You’ll see some changes in your payment options.
- You’ll need to take new steps to pay your monthly premium.
- You’ll need to set up any recurring payments again.
Why is Premera making this change?
We currently have members on different payment systems. We're moving to one system, which will help us be more efficient and effective when assisting you. You’ll also get features you've asked for, such as a payment confirmation screen and an emailed payment receipt.
What should I do now?
You don’t need to take any action now. Continue to pay your monthly premium through April 30, just as you’ve been doing. We'll be providing more information during the next 2 months. Stay tuned!
