The Alaska Division of Insurance (DOI) approved the 2021 Alaska Medicare Supplement Rates. The new rates will take effective on January 1, 2021.
All Premera Medicare Supplement members with a Premera plan were sent rate change notice letters on October 23 with rate details. You can view the member letters on our Alaska Medicare Supplement landing page.
As a reminder, Medicare Supplement Plan F and Plan High Deductible F were closed to new sales on December 31, 2019. Alaska customers can’t enroll but are able to transfer to these plans if they were Medicare eligible on or prior to December 31, 2019. Anyone eligible on or after January 1, 2020 is not eligible to transfer to a Plan F or High Deductible Plan F.
Selling Premera through 2020
If you need to enroll clients in a Premera Blue Cross Medicare Supplement plan before the end of this year, continue to request supplies through our 2020 enrollment kit order form. The 2020 kit will enable you to enroll your clients in all our active plans.
