Do you receive autopayments for your individual plan patients? If so, you may need to update your InstaMed account.
Premera partners with InstaMed to deliver your claims payments via electronic remittance advice (ERA) and electronic funds transfer (EFT). A recent audit of our systems found that many of our individual plan providers need to update their InstaMed accounts to meet CMS compliance rules and ensure uninterrupted EFT payments.
Specifically, we’re asking providers to ensure their billing national provider identifier (NPI2) numbers are accurate, up to date, and match the correct taxpayer identification number (TIN) by December 1, 2023.
If your TIN/NPI combinations are not updated and properly matched, you won’t receive EFT payments after January 19, 2024. You will instead receive paper checks for the missing or mismatched TIN/NPI combinations. In addition, providers with single NPIs on multiple TINs will receive paper checks because InstaMed has no way to pay these claims in compliance with CMS.
Here’s how to update your account and verify your TIN/NPI information:
- Sign in to your InstaMed account at online.instamed.com/providers using your User ID, Password and Corporate ID.
- Navigate to Configure > Account Info > Manage Payer Payments. Review your account information, check that your NPI and TIN are current and correct or make necessary changes.
