  • Fewer health care needs

  • Don’t use much health care? Consider how much flexibility you want when choosing providers

Although the Health Connect Plan has some coverage for out-of-network services, your out-of-pocket costs are lowest when you use the smaller subset of Health Connect network providers that are located only on the Eastside of Puget Sound. Under the HMO Plan, you’re required to see providers in the Kaiser Permanente network.

The Health Savings Plan has a broad, nationwide network that lets you see any provider you want, including those outside the Premera network (though you pay more out of pocket to see those providers). If you travel a lot or simply want the option of seeing out of network providers, the Health Savings Plan gives you the most flexibility.

The long-term value of a Health Savings Account

The Health Savings Plan is the only Microsoft medical plan that features a Health Savings Account, which gives you the opportunity to pay for current health care expenses and save money for future health care expenses tax-free. And Microsoft gives you money every year for your Health Savings Account ($1,000 to $2,500 depending on the number of dependents you cover).
