The Premera Premier Provider designation program focuses on supporting our members by identifying high-performing providers on national and industry adopted standards of quality and cost-efficiency. The program evaluates provider performance on contracted
providers across 12 specialties, including primary care and pediatrics. These high-performance designations are featured on Premera’s member-facing provider search tools and used by Premera in its service model to customers.
Beginning August 2022, the Premier Provider designation program will:
- Expand to include physician assistants and nurse practitioners’ performance
- Extend the review period to calendar years 2019, 2020, and 2021
- Include an updated, robust data set for inpatient and outpatient quality measurement
The updated methodology, a program whitepaper, the program summary, FAQs, and contact information are available on Premera.com.
If you have additional questions about the program, contact your assigned Premera provider network executive.
