Premera Blue Cross and EvergreenHealth have reached an agreement

    After a long negotiation, EvergreenHealth has come to terms with Premera Blue Cross and rescinded their termination. This new multi-year agreement ensures there is no disruption for Premera members who receive care at EvergreenHealth. The new contract allows members across all Premera lines of business, including commercial, individual, and Medicare Advantage, to retain in-network access at EvergreenHealth, which has facilities throughout King and Snohomish counties.

    The new contract represents collaboration between the two organizations that provides stability and access to affordable care. It also focuses on improving the patient experience through value-based reimbursements. The new agreement makes certain that our members continue to receive access to affordable, quality care and there is no disruption for those who seek care at EvergreenHealth. More information for members is in our Healthsource blog.

    The current economic environment in the healthcare industry is challenging for everyone. Like health systems, Washington businesses and Premera aren’t immune from serious financial pressures. As we’ve always said, these negotiations are not about Premera, they are about our customers. Double-digit increases are not sustainable.
