Brent Allred, a beloved special education resource room teacher, was surprised this month at Lake Forest Park Elementary for helping make a difference in the lives of his students.

Allred received $2,000 for his school and tickets to see an upcoming Sounders game with his students. He was the first teacher chosen for the Premera Teacher Tribute, an award given to teachers in King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties who go above and beyond for their students.

Principal Aimee Miner nominated Allred for the Premera Teacher Tribute. She appreciates how Allred uses sports to help his students with their academics.

“He really cares about his students,” Miner said. “He builds on their strengths and makes learning fun. He really digs into what kids need.”
