One of the ways Premera Blue Cross makes healthcare work better is by investing in the communities where our headquarters are located in Washington and Alaska.
With help from a $1.6 million donation from Premera, Cocoon House opened a new building with 40 beds for at-risk youth and young adults in Everett, WA. In addition to Premera’s donation, over 30
Premera employee volunteers worked with Cocoon House staff to assemble furniture and get the space ready for its grand opening. (A few of those volunteers were featured in local news coverage in The Herald.)
The nonprofit hosted a tour and ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Colby Avenue location in April to show off the new facility and celebrate years of dedication serving homeless youth ages 12 to 24.
