Dr. Josephine Young, Medical Director, Commercial Markets, Premera Blue Cross
In her role as medical director, Dr. Young works with our national and large accounts with a focus on driving innovation, improving patient outcomes, and addressing health equity. She joined Premera in July 2020, and previously served as the chief operating
officer at Allegro Pediatrics. As the COO, Dr. Young was responsible for all day-to-day operations, which included more than 100 providers and 300 staff members at nine clinics.
Dr. Young earned a doctor of medicine degree from Boston University, a master of public health degree from the University of Washington School of Public Health, and a master of business administration from the University of Washington.
Ben Helsel, Senior Sales Manager, Washington Commercial Markets, Premera Blue Cross
Ben has over 15 years’ experience working with health plans. He has a robust understanding of the evolving insurance landscape, expectations of employer groups, and trends in the marketplace. A central figure on the Premera market-facing team, he brings a wealth of insight into Premera strategies around network, alternative funding, and product evolution. He’s a lifelong Seattle resident, growing up in Wallingford and now living in Ballard with his wife and two daughters.
