For fully insured groups
Premera Blue Cross is issuing a refund to fully insured groups for a fee included in their 2018 premiums.
The refund is a portion of an insurer fee that was charged to Premera and passed on to our fully insured groups. Due to recent changes in federal tax laws, this portion of the insurer fee was not required in 2018.
Refund checks will be mailed at the end of March to impacted groups, including the parent groups for associations and trusts. We are refunding payments for the fee to employer groups that paid Premera premiums in 2018, regardless of whether they have a current health plan with us.
