Our 2024 individual and family plans and rates have been filed with the Office of the Insurance Commissioner (OIC). Here’s a summary of what you can expect for next year.
Counties
We’re expanding our footprint! Premera Blue Cross is entering Pierce, Spokane, and Yakima counties in 2024. That means you can sell our metallic and standard plans in a total of 8 counties.
Plans
All Preferred and Standard plans are renewing next year. Premera will not discontinue any products or introduce any new products in 2024.
Rates
We’ve filed for an average 15.8% rate increase. The increase reflects rising healthcare costs and higher than expected member utilization of healthcare services. Rates aren’t final until approved by the OIC in early September.
Network
There are no major changes to our Individual Signature network for next year. Our members will have access to the same expansive network of providers, including University of Washington Medical Center, Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, Seattle Children’s Hospital, Providence Health Services, Swedish Medical Center, Overlake Medical Center, Kinwell, and EvergreenHealth.
Commission
We’ll continue the same 3-tier compensation structure in 2024. But we’re increasing the tier 1 commission to $20 per member per month (PMPM).
As a reminder, only individual members count toward the tiers. As shown in the table below, you have unlimited earning potential for the top tier.
