Small Group News
Published February 25, 2019
For groups with 1–50 employees with a non-qualified metallic plan. Does not apply to Peak Care plans.
Many members with a non-qualified small group metallic plan have not designated an in-network primary care provider (PCP) and are missing out on saving money.
The savings
Whenever a member designates and receives care from an in-network PCP, their copayments are less for each visit. Plus, depending on their plan, a certain number of their initial office visits with that provider may be covered in full. These covered-in-full office visits are in addition to a no-cost visit for preventive services.
Not only does selecting a PCP provide savings for members, it helps them build a relationship with their physician, which can lead to better care over time.

Dear [CLIENT],
Did you know your employees may get some office visits covered in full as well as lower copays by designating and receiving care from an in-network primary care provider (PCP) through their Premera health plan? These office visits are in addition to a no-cost visit for preventive services.
Refer to your medical plan benefits for complete details. Your employees will find their benefit summary details by signing in to their Premera account and selecting My Premera Plan.
Share with your employees instructions on how to designate a PCP
Premera makes it easy for you to tell your employees how to designate a PCP with ready-to-share communications on B’link—an online resource designed to help make benefits simple. From the homepage of B’link, enter PCP in the search box on the top-right corner of the page to find Designating a PCP—messaging in three lengths, an email, and a flyer!
Your employees can designate a PCP any time. They just need to make the designation prior to the office visit. They can do this by signing in to their member account on premera.com.
