We’re pleased to announce an addition of Premera Blue Cross HMO. This Premera subsidiary
will support our HMO launch in Washington state effective January 1, 2023. Premera
Blue Cross HMO gives members a notably affordable product option and a
blue-branded HMO choice in the market.
Premera HMO is built on the Sherwood HMO network and will
support our Premera HMO
Core Plus plan. The
Sherwood HMO provides service to members in Pierce, Thurston, and Spokane
counties.
Contract packages were mailed to all Washington providers, last
month. If
you are part of the Sherwood HMO network, an updated contract package for 2023
was sent to you. The packages include:
- Sherwood network contract package:
- A cover letter welcoming you to the network.
- An amendment adding the Premera Blue Cross HMO company to your core agreement.
- A new network attachment adding the Sherwood HMO network.
- If you’re not participating at this time, you received:
- A cover letter letting you know that you’re currently not in the network.
- An updated contract amendment adding Premera Blue Cross HMO to your existing core agreement. This allows Premera to expand Premera Blue Cross HMO in the future. Providers will be notified in advance if we decide to add them to the network.
