Update on Quartet, a Behavioral Health Resource

  • July 6, 2017

Premera is partnering with Quartet, a pioneering healthcare technology company, to bridge the gap between physical care and treatment of mental health conditions and substance abuse.

We've heard from many providers who would like to collaborate more closely with behavioral health experts on patient care. Our partnership with Quartet enables primary care practitioners (PCPs) and behavioral health providers to better communicate and coordinate treatment for patients with chronic medical and behavioral health conditions.

Quartet offers you access to a network of more than 500 behavioral health providers in the greater Seattle area. Each provider in the network is vetted for professional qualifications and expertise, as well as being part of Premera's network. The initial program focus is in King and Snohomish counties and has been well-received, with nearly 300 PCPs using the tool to deliver outcome-driven care. This collaboration offers you:

    • Increased visibility of at-risk patients with known or unknown behavioral health diagnoses. You can view claims and other information for these identified at-risk patients through Quartet's easy-to-use website.
    • Access to real-time support. Licensed behavioral health providers focus on each patient's needs during psychiatric consultations.
    • A simplified and collaborative referral process. Quartet's technology makes it easy to refer patients and to maintain ongoing communication with the respective behavioral health provider, with real-time updates on a patient's care activity.

With active participation from primary care and behavioral health providers, Premera's collaboration with Quartet can improve outcomes, quality of life, and lower total health costs for patients with chronic medical conditions and behavioral health conditions.
