As of July 15, 2023, Premera began accepting retrospective requests for Premera Blue Cross HMO referrals up to 6 months after the date of service (formerly up to 60 days). We’re making this change to provide a better customer experience for our providers and members as we continue to enhance our HMO line of business.
Using Availity, providers can submit a referral request, view in-network providers, and check referral status. Availity is the preferred method and provides the fastest turnaround.
