Member Wellness Check Calls

    Premera is calling MA members about telehealth and other resources available to them during the coronavirus pandemic. As this is a challenging time, Premera wants members have access to care when they need it.

    Premera is doing member wellness check phone outreach to all Medicare Advantage (MA) members. The calls are to inform Medicare Advantage members that Premera will cover telehealth visits with in-network providers until June 30.

    Members will be encouraged to reach out to their in-network primary care doctor to discuss their telehealth capabilities. If a provider charges a member a copay, deductible, or coinsurance for telehealth services through June 30, Premera will reimburse the member when the claim is processed.

    During the calls, members who are due for diabetic screening for nephropathy, HbA1c testing or colorectal cancer screening will be offered an in-home test kit. Results of any completed testing will be faxed to the member’s primary care provider.
