The Premera Provider Workshop series helps
providers learn about our tools and interact with our Provider Relations and
Network teams. Here are some highlights
from the January 19 workshop:
- We’re looking at how we can transform payment
methodologies and continuing to focus on building strong, local
relationships.
- Expanding primary care
approach to our members across Washington. Two Kinwell Medical Group clinics opened
in Yakima and Wenatchee in 2021, and more are planned across Washington
this year.
- Our goal is to make it
easier for providers to work with us by eliminating faxes and developing
digital processes for prior authorizations, referrals, and updating
demographic information.
Availity Essentials Secure provider portal update
- Visit availity.com/Premera for helpful user
guides, training, and other resources.
- Get important
information about a member’s plan displays on the eligibility and benefits
page below the payer logo. This information is specific to a member’s
benefit plan and the benefit/service type you’ve selected.
- Providers still need to
submit a prior authorization through Premera’s legacy provider portal. The
Availity prior authorization feature will be added in 2022.
Federal No Surprises Act update
- Premera will assist providers in complying with
the new rules.
- We’re working with
Quest Analytics/Better Doctor to capture and automate provider updates.
- Due to challenges in
developing the required infrastructure, the Advance Explanation of
Benefits enforcement has been deferred by the Federal government.
- Get more detailed
information in our No Surprises Act workshop.
