Keeping information about your practice accurate and current in Premera’s records is important and required. Not only is this information used by members and referring providers to find care and therefore help new patients find your practice, but it also helps our members make informed decisions about their care and ensures Premera’s compliance with federal requirements.
Here’s how to update your information quickly and simply:
Premera Provider Directory
The federal No Surprises Act requires health plans to verify all provider directory data every 90 days and remove unverified providers from their directories. It also requires all providers and facilities to submit their information to in-network plans.
To help make verification easy, Premera is now using the BetterDoctor online portal from Quest Analytics in the following ways:
- You’ll be contacted by BetterDoctor every 90 days by fax, mail, email, and/or telephone to verify your provider directory information.
- You need to respond and attest or provide changes when BetterDoctor contacts your practice.
- Updates captured by BetterDoctor will be sent to Premera.
If your office information has changed recently and the information isn’t captured through the Better Doctor outreach, email us a completed provider update form.
National Plan & Provider Enumeration System (NPPES)
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has also asked us to remind you to review your National Provider Identifier (NPI) data in the National Plan & Provider Enumeration System (NPPES). Providers are legally required to keep their NPPES data current.
When reviewing your provider data in NPPES, please update any inaccurate information in modifiable fields including provider name, mailing address, telephone and fax numbers, and specialty.
NPPES information is also used by Quest Analytics. Keeping your information accurate can reduce the information that needs to be updated through the Quest Analytics online portal.
