Keeping your provider data accurate is important. Not only is it a federal and contractual requirement, but it also helps our members make informed decisions about their care and serves as a resource for patients.
Premera Provider Directory
The federal No Surprises Act requires Premera to verify all provider directory data every 90 days and remove all unverified providers from our online directories. It is the provider and facility responsibility to maintain current information and share
with Premera.
Premera is using the BetterDoctor online portal from Quest Analytics:
- You’ll be contacted by BetterDoctor every 90 days by fax, mail, email, and/or telephone to verify your provider directory information.
- It is required that you respond and attest or provide changes when you receive outreach.
- Updates captured by BetterDoctor will be passed on to Premera and entered into our system.
If your office information has changed recently and the information isn’t captured through the Better Doctor outreach, email us a completed provider update form.
National Plan & Provider Enumeration System (NPPES)
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has also asked us to remind you to review your National Provider Identifier (NPI) data in the National Plan & Provider Enumeration System (NPPES). Providers are legally required to keep their NPPES data current. When reviewing your provider data in NPPES, update any inaccurate information in modifiable fields including provider name, mailing address, telephone and fax numbers, and specialty. NPPES information is also used by Quest Analytics. Keeping your information accurate can reduce what needs to be updated through the Quest Analytics online portal.
